Digital Media Production (Content/Advertisements/Promotions)

How is content produced for the IMAGEPRO3D® system?
First, we define “content” as the actual visual images that can be shown on IMAGEPRO3D®. Content can be developed as advertisements, public information, training or promotional materials, and as single images that can change at determined timed intervals or as streaming content, similar to a television commercial. To display the 3D effect, content should be created as a digital animation; however, Special things® does have the capability of broadcasting traditional 2D content on a 3D object floating in space. In this case, the 2D content from major advertisers can be utilized on IMAGEPRO3D® to produce a stunning 3D effect. IMAGEPRO3D® simple needs to format the 2D content as part of this process. Special things® does not need to produce the 3D content to broadcast on IMAGEPRO3D® units but does need to provide a quality formatting procedure to insure optimization of the best aerial image.

What kind of source material do you need to produce 3D IMAGEPRO3D® content?
We can use any object that was designed with 3D software like Maya, 3D Studio Max, or LightWave. Also, we can use any 2D source material, like a JPEG picture, as part of the storyboard. Display can be driven by all standard video formats, including NTSC, Pal, QuickTime, DVD, MPEG, MPEG2, MPEG4 and AVI.

How long does it take to produce content for IMAGEPRO3D®?
From several days to 3 weeks, depending on the “factors” outlined above (complexity, animation, length, etc.) as well as production backlog. A pregenerated storyboard will greatly aid communications and speed the production process. Again, this is in lieu of a customer already having 3D content produced or simply wishing to run their 2D content on a 3D object.

What is the production of 3D content/advertisements procedure?
It is a three-step process: a) build objects in 3D, b) animate objects, c) add special effects. This process is similar to all other computer-generated imagery produced for movies in “Hollywood.” Content previously shot in 2D, such as a pre-existing commercial, can be incorporated and interwoven with digital 3D animation.

Can’t I just scan a picture into a JPEG format and use it in IMAGEPRO3D®?
No, the resulting product will not be in 3D and will not be of optimal quality. However, if you give us your picture or file we can build it into a IMAGEPRO3D® 3D image.

Can you convert a regular TV commercial to run on IMAGEPRO3D®?
Yes, though you cannot “convert” a TV commercial into 3D, a method has been developed whereby 2D content can be displayed on an object floating in space, which creates a stunning 3D effect.

Can an aerial display be in text or narrative form? Yes

How long is a typical IMAGEPRO3D® “commercial” or message?
The typical length is between 15 and 40 seconds long.

Can I stream live broadcast material across IMAGEPRO3D®?
Yes, it will be viewed from the face of a 3D object floating in space, simulating the
3D effect.

Is the 3D production process expensive? How is it priced?
Most commercial 3D animation production companies base price on many factors including level of resolution required, complexity in terms of intricacy of animation, special effects, sound track, and overall length. Typical production pricing can range between 600 € for a simple logo to 10,000 € for a lengthy piece with numerous special effects. Content can only be priced following a complete review of the storyboard by Special things®’s production department.

What is needed from the customer if they wish to begin the production process?
The customer should write a narrative description of what they want, or optimally, provide a storyboard of the content required. If the customer has an AVI file, it can be used as input into the production process.

Does IMAGEPRO3D® on require special software?
Yes, IMAGEPRO3D® runs on proprietary software that is supplied by Special things®. This software formats the content to properly interface with the system to produce a distinguishable, high quality aerial image.

Can IMAGEPRO3D® be networked?
Yes, with the proper infrastructure, the units can be networked within a store, a mall, or across the country.

Is IMAGEPRO3D® a PC based system? Yes.

What is IMAGEPRO3D®?
Es un nuevo y revolucionario sistema interactivo de publicidad y de comunicación que permite al espectador ver imágenes tri-dimensionales animadas o mensajes "que flotan en el aire" sin la necesidad de gafas especiales.

How does it work?
IMAGEPRO3D® is the result of years of optical and electronic research is a complex but integrated array of technologies that includes a proprietary and geometrically precise optical system, a ”cutting-edge” software system, with both linked to a proprietary digital display (PDD).

What size aerial objects can be projected and are there size limitations?
We can project a real size human head, or a Coke can that is 4 times larger than the original.

How far can the aerial image be projected from the unit?
While the distance is dependent on the model ordered, typical projections range between 30 cm. and 1.25 meters.

What are the viewing angles?
IMAGEPRO3D® has viewing angles of up to 60 degrees. The viewing angle refers to the lateral field of view projected from the centre of the unit. The audience angle increases as the distance from the unit increases.

Can you project an image out to anywhere in the room?
No! You can only project the image out in front of the unit 1.25 meters with a current maximum viewing angle of 60 degrees.

Does IMAGEPRO3D® system have any adverse impact on the eyes?
No. People adjust their viewing distance to the image quickly based on their maximum comfort zone.

What are the physical sizes of IMAGEPRO3D® units?
Unit sizes are based on the desired image size and can be as small as a computer monitor or as large as a small refrigerator.

What shapes do IMAGEPRO3D® units come in?
IMAGEPRO3D® is designed as a “black box” chassis and comes in a generic trapezoidal shape. A cover or façade can be designed around the product for a particular application or specific customer need.

Can the IMAGEPRO3D® units be placed or hidden out of the view from the audience?
Yes, the equipment can be built into a wall, or covered with a façade suitable to the environment. For example, as seen in our brochures, we can cover the equipment to resemble a phone, shoe, or coke can.

How much electrical power does IMAGEPRO3D® consume?
The same as a TV set or a home P.C., and it comes in international voltages that must be specified at the time of order.

Is easy to transport and install?
Yes, units can be moved easily and simply plug into the nearest electrical outlet.

Is there a standard audio package with the IMAGEPRO3D® system?
Yes, included in the base price of all units are two speakers with power output of 3 watts per channel. Other speakers can be used as specified by the customer. Units are external to the unit but can be built into the exterior façade of the unit as a custom application.

Can I put a video input into the system?
Yes, but the media content must be in a digital format compatible with IMAGEPRO3D®, otherwise the 3D effect is lost.

Can IMAGEPRO3D® be interactive?
Yes, the imagery from IMAGEPRO3D® is so compelling that it forces you to reach out and verify whether the image is real or not by reaching out to touch the aerial image. Other interactive technologies, such as optical and voice recognition, in addition to wireless mouse technology, allow customers to truly interact with the object. Customers can manipulate or rotate the object in space, change the objects colour, initiate an informational loop that demonstrates product attributes, or highlights price or in-stock information.
